I had an extremely frustrating experience with UCI Transportation. I received a parking citation at 8:56 AM, even though I had purchased a two-hour hourly parking permit at 7:57 AM, which was valid until 9:57 AM. I double-checked my stall number, and everything was entered correctly. Yet, they still issued a ticket and claimed it was a “time violation.”🤡

Excuse me, but how is my permit expiring at 9:57 AM a violation at 8:56 AM? Are you serious? Do you guys even check before issuing tickets, or do you just hand them out randomly for fun? If I pay for parking, I shouldn’t have to waste my time fighting an obviously incorrect citation.

This system is either completely incompetent or intentionally predatory. Absolutely unacceptable.

UCI Transportation and Parking is completely unreasonable and will go out of their way to issue citations for anything they can. They seem more focused on making money than actually helping students. Even if you follow the rules, they’ll find some minor technicality to fine you. Appealing a ticket is a joke—they’ll just deny it without real consideration.

The enforcement is inconsistent, and it feels like they target students rather than actually managing parking efficiently. The many reviews speak for themselves—countless people have had unfair experiences. Instead of supporting students, they take advantage of them. It seems there is corruption involved. Absolutely ridiculous system.

Paid $350 a QUARTER to park WHERE I LIVE and still have the audacity to give me not 1 but 2 citations! I parked in the guest spot only because my car was dying and I didn’t have a choice but to park it there to check what was wrong. My car completely died and would not move after checking. I also had a flight the day after which meant I couldn’t deal with it until I got back. WTH IS THE POINT OF MY PAYING $350 FOR PARKING IF I CANT PARK IN MY APARTMENTS LOT. AND TO GIVE ME TWO SEPARATE TICKETS SHOWS HOW THESE PEOPLE LOVE TO HEADHUNT BROKE STUDENTS THAT ARE ALREADY HAVING A HARD TIME.

WORST SERVICE EVER, their whole purpose is to drain broke college students who paid for tuitions. Appeals are extremely biased and the parking lots location shows how students are the least prioritized group to school. The AR staff parkings are always so spacious and somehow the preferred sections shows sold out when there’s so many open spaces. I literally have to wait for 20min to find a spot because for the section I paid for which is also the farthest from school, and it’s still so crowded and limited. Just trying to find a parking spot everyday in the morning is the most stressful thing for me. And when I have no where to park they give you a ticket for having to park somewhere. What do you expect me to do? Eat my car? They are doomed.

Tagged my bike with only a few days to move. Tickets anyone that parks in the 30 minute zone, even if they just got there. The worst part is that these guys have a freaking ticket quota to fulfill per month. I bet they're just lining their pockets while robbing their students.
